Hi Jo
if there clean dry and healing well you could be without a dressing. If you have surgical glue or any thick scabs it situ it maybe wise to cover them over so they don’t catch on your clothing
you can shower quick and pat area dry but no submerging till your wounds are smooth and scab free.
How you feeling now xx

Brilliant thank you for the advice, i think i will cover them over again tonight just to keep them protected then 🙂
I am feeling amazing !! My shoulder pain has virtually gone (HURRAH!) , I don’t have any pain around the wounds, they just feel tight and I am managing fluids just fine…. the weird thing is my appetite is starting to come back … but I have stocked up on all I need for another week of liquids only 🙂

DOH the dreaded hunger…!! All good signs that your healing well internally too… the hunger can kick back in once the swelling starts to subside
Good nutritious fluids, high in protein will keep that hunger at bay… one week down 1 too go..!!! Happy dayz
It will do the wounds no harm to put another dressing back on at this stage….just to give that little bit of extra protection, especially in this heat
look after you xx

One of my wounds ended up open 🙁 , headed into a MIU this morning to get help and they were brilliant – they have cleaned, and dressed the wound with a hydrocolloid dressing and I have a review next week. Thankfully its only one that isn’t healing, I am staying as positive as possible. The only downside is not being able to shower for another week (ewwwww)

Oh no, which wound was it..?? one of the smaller ones or the bigger ones
It’s just the position of these wounds, there under pressure on every movement and this can happen
Good for your speedy action and hopefully get it sorted asap
Defo keep positive and you will be showering daily before you know for sure xx

It is one of the smaller ones, furthest on the right hand side. Yes the position is tricky, I can’t help but seem to pull someway or another.. whenever I move, I am hopeful that they dressing can sort out the issue quickly and then the nurses can get the incision closed back up again to start healing properly. 🙂
The things we do …. on a plus note now its got cooler I can drink a bit more (Yay) so my protein intake is on the up again…

It’s so important for everything to keep well hydrated post op your right, so this turn in the weather is a stroke of luck for you haha. Plenty of protein will have that wound healed in a jiffy. It’s good news its not the larger incisions as these are the ones closest to the port and can be more problematic and take much longer to heal
Try and keep your movements limited and hopefully will just reseal back up xx
