Gastric Bypass Explained

The Gastric Bypass is often referred to as the gold standard in weight loss surgery because of its excellent weight loss results. It is usually performed using keyhole surgery via incisions in the abdomen. The stomach is reduced in size to about 25 – 30mls in size and part of the small intestine is bypasses altogether. This causes a reduction in the amount of food eaten, reduced hunger levels and a reduction in the number of calories that can be absorbed.

The surgery changes your digestive tract however and this will result in less vitamins and minerals being absorbed from your food so you will be required to take daily supplements and have regular blood tests to prevent ant deficiencies

Think about it carefully, ensure you do your homework and find a reputable Bariatric Centre with good reviews.
