      Hi

So i am 6 day in after op gastric band.  I have kept to the liquid diet mainly milk based and soup.  The past 2 days i have terrible difficulties with diarrhea i get a lower cramp and then sorry to say pouring out like water ?

Is this normal . I dont feel nauseous or i dont vomit.  What do you think is causing this sudden issue of needed to dash to loo after had fluids.

      Hi Louise

Your body has Been through a lot during surgery and this can upset the digestive tract causing symptoms like you are experiencing.  They shouldn’t last, but it might be wise to come away from the milky type liquids and aid for more nutritional soups.  Try to keep your fluids bland for the time being too incase this is causing further irritation.  It is so important to keep up your fluids at this stage to not get dehydrated so make sure you are getting plenty of water down still.   If this is really becoming an issue you can visit your local chemist or gp and as about liquid type medication to help, maybe some Imodium or something along these lines.

Hope your ok and these symptoms settle down for you soon, glad you are not feeling nauseous too

Let us know how you get on xx

For the wind pain you could also try windeze, gripe water or peppermint tea x
