      Hi everyone,

When your feeling rubbish or unwell, stressed or just to busy its easy to give up on your goals. Focusing on each day as it comes has become a habit of mine and i feel like sometimes that can be a bit usless. Thats why ive been meal prepping so my day dosnt effect my food. I would say diet but i dont like to say im on a diet as our journey really is a way of life forever. Anyway my point is today im having a reflective day. Thinking back to how i felt before my band and why i got it. My reasons were health for my self, i was always worried about my weight, on fad quick fix diets even tried slimming tablets and laxatives as an extreme. This had to stop i have 2 beautiful daughters and i never wanted them to be worried or see me worry about my weight as i never wated them to feel that way about themselves. I am their example. Now they see me cooking and eating fresh food enjoying being in the kitchen. My husband and i are big foodies and we enjoy cooking and eating new food together. My daughters love to cook and eat, maybe not always what i eat but they always tell me i am beautiful as do i tell them. For the last almost 3 years since my band i havnt touched a fad diet, slimming pill or laxative and today that sort of reflection gives me total completeness on an off day. Here is a pic of my progress. 3 yrs ago vs ny wedding 5 months ago.

Have a reflective day its so worth it. What was your reason?

Wowwww ….what a stunning mum and bride – truly lovely in both pics and at different times in your life.  Laura you have just summed the gastric band journey up in that reflection.  I agree it is trying to get away from the ‘dieting fads’ and trying to find a place of content.  A true inspiration and I agree were ever you are on your journey – even if you haven’t had your surgery yet, take some time out to look back and reflect and find good in all what your have achieved and your plans going forward.

Laura great post and well done you have done amazing  xx

Thankyou Bandboozled, i certainly couldnt have done it without you. I think its important to reflect on where you have been, were you are now and were you want to go. I always wanted to be “skinny” like the girls all over social media, but i guess thats just a contradiction as to why i done this in the first place for my health, and to be a good role model to my girls. im a long way  from skinny (but i dont care) and yes i fluctuate but im only human, im a mum and i enjoy food and life and i think thats more important than anything. I do get fed up sometimes, but im healthy and thats was my goal.  if i could speak to anyone who hasnt had their surgery yet i would tell them that reflection is the most important part of having wls. Well it is to me hehe. Thankyou for your lovely comments. I feel positive today.

The book clearly says. “We do not remove fluid for holidays, life with the band should not be miserable. “ who did you get it done with?

Aww ive just just seen these posts. They made me cry. Thankyou. Love how we all support eachother. We have all taken control and we will all have times were we dont feel it but the day we got wls was when we took control. It may take years and i think its a very psychological process. But we can all do it and keep doing it.  Were all fabulous big or small but we choose our own destiny body wise 100% (appart from illness) but that out of the equestion we can do this girls xxx
