I have dropped a fair few sizes in my 11 stone loss journey. But it s always weird to me that to this day i STILL insist on taking in a size bigger than I actually need. I remember a spectacular fuss at Mango in the Trafford Centre – a black jersey skin-fitting dress – long sleeved, showing nowt but enhancing every curve…. gentle draping on the tum – always welcome 🙂 So can the assistant convince me to try the size 10? Nope. I had taken a 14 in, agreed to try a 12 which was still loose but i couldn’t bring myself to try the 10 on. What??? You d think i d would be excited but i was kinda …. well.. scared is the only word I can use. I tried it on and it honestly was ..well.. it looked amazing. I could not believe what was staring back at me. Is that me????? So i wore it to the event i bought it for and the same reaction – people just stared at me as i walked by. But why do we struggle, after fighting so hard for it, to accept that we are a smaller size? Is it too good to be true? Or is it just me??? 🙂

Good question – there can be lots of reasons. You may be so used to being bigger that its just an automatic response to go for the bigger clothes. You may be scared to try on the smaller size in case it doesn’t fit and those old feelings of disappointment creep back in. Maybe you aren’t used to the figure hugging clothes and feel a little self conscious. Sometimes it takes awhile for your head to catch up with that fabulous new figure and you still see yourself as bigger than you are. Whatever the reasons you have worked hard for that amazing new shape so every time you try new clothes on try on the smaller size too – just in case xx And don’t get too hung up on sizes – you could be a size 8 in one shop and a 14 in another – just choose whats suits you and you look great in regardless of whats on the label xx

everyone has a long journey  xx but you can climb a mountain one step at a time xx its a marathon not a sprint, so take your time, learn good food lessons along the way and bring a little gentle exercise into the mix as well . You ll feel like one of the ‘real world’ if you a little bit of what other people do – i swim a lot – n as much as i enjoy the exercise i feel emotionally so proud of myself for doing something that others do. Good luck xx
