Hi everyone,
Hope your all ok. If your waiting to be banded or thinking about it, the best thing to do is talk ask loads of questions on here. And just do random posts about what your thinking, more than likely there are people on here that feel exactly the same. Ive been banded 3 years in april, and im still figuring it out. Its a fun jouney and youll enjoy and appreciate food more than you ever have, the little flavours, the presentation, the smells all make a diffetence when your eating less.
Good luck. Start posting.

Hi everyone 🙂
I am due to get my band on the 20th August – 2 days before my birthday, I wondered if anyone on here (ladies) have suffered with PCOS and ended up with a band… this is my history… I am 20 years post diagnosis and can finally try and work towards getting a bit of “me” back.
I am excited, apprehensive, aware of the hard work and raring to go… any tips ? especially for someone who works 12 hour shifts ?
TIA
Jox

Hi Jo
Welcome to the site and what an amazing birthday pressie to yourself…!!!!!
You sound like a woman on a mission and so excited for your journey to find a bit of you again. The gastric band changes lives, we see this day in and day out, not always the easiest journey but education is key. So you have plenty of time to have a good read through the site and soak up all the bits and pieces that will no doubt help you on your weight loss journey.
You should be fine with your band and shifts, it’s just about knowing your band and your triggers and working with it to find the level of control that works for you
1 calendar month today and you will be done and dusted….!!!!
It will fly by xx

Hey!!! nice to meet you xx best pressie you can give to yourself is your band xx I didn’t have PCOS but I still remember the down side of heavier life before I had my band fitted 16 years ago. Take it easy post op, don’t expect too much too soon – you ll need a few fills before the real loss kicks in – this is a marathon not a sprint so plan ahead, have a good read of the advice on here n don’t be embarrassed to ask any questions at all. Good luck n don’t be a stranger here – we re all pre or post op and at different weights n stages on our journeys – you ll only ever find kindness and support here, be it about the physical issues or the emotional ones xxx
