Hi guys,
I keep getting some discomfort under my left ribs, like a stitch. And I feel like it’s gas bubbling around.
Is this normal 2 weeks post op?thanks
Charlie. X

It could still be some gas Yano. Make sure you are keeping the food/fluids intake nice and slow and steady still. Drinking/eating quick can trigger this kind of wind pain too. You could consider some wind preps before you eat/drink or maybe get up and move around after eating to help move it along xx

If it doesn’t improve though just give your provider a call to be on the safe side xx

And… today one of my incisions has started oozing/ weeping. Dunno if it’s being dressed not in PJs for first time or my seatbelt running or what but I’ve dettoled it and will keep an eye on it. Never rains does it….

Awww Charlotte – sounds like you are going through the mill a little
I would call your provider and get a nurse call or even better attend to see the nurse in clinic for a wound review
Sometimes a few weeks post op the internal sutures can start to cause irritation and make there way out of the skin… and this can open the wound a little – they generally come out and then the wound heals and are not normally a concern
If you cannot feel anything scratchy or feel it is from the seatbelt etc – I would pop a dressing on it to protect it too xx

Hi, so I actually think 3 of my wounds are infected. They’re bright red and keep oozing horrible stuff so I’m gonna call the clinic tomorrow.
So frustrating just want to be on the mend now, -

Oh no they sound like it could be an infection. Yes get an appointment at the soonest so the nurse can assess them for you and get a treatment plan in place
let us know how you get on xx

How are you getting on Charlotte?
make sure you have lots of protein just now as that aids healing xx -

Hey, I’ve been so busy at work I keep forgetting to come on here!
all but one wound has healed well, just one stubborn one.
no infection now though.
