Hi
I knownis only early days and I’m still healing but I have stabbing like pains in my biggest wound and the one above. Is this normal it’s when I walk or bend or even sometimes when I sit a certain way. Think I just need to be reassured that this is normal ha ha.
Thanks
catherine

Hi Catherine
Yes let me reassure you, the stabbing like pain your experiencing is normal early days as this is generally were your port is positioned so it is to be expected that you would be feeling more pain around this area. Obvious you need to be observing the area and if any other symptoms i.e. additional swelling additional redness – ouzing wounds – high temp flare up I would always advise that you contact your provider to book in for a nurse review to get checked out.
Check out our start section – this is a guide of what to expect within your first 6 weeks – might help you out as a little guide
Hope your on the mend soon and take things easy
Keep us updated xx
