Hi Rachel
That sounds like the dreaded wind pain :-(. it can take a while to settle
If you have started on soft food, really important that you are doing the 20+ rule as this can aggravate the wind pain too
Try to take some wind preps… peppermint tea, gripe water and chewable windeze are great
Keep up and mobile and do some windmills with the arms.
If you are struggling with soft diet in anyway, might be wise to have a few days back on fluids
Have you spoke to your dietitian yet
It will get easier…. the first few weeks can just be the worst for the wind xx

Thanks for the reply – have been trying the windeze and peppermint remedies – will try windmill arms – the pain is my phrenic nerve as its worse when i inflate my lungs. I have been very mobile gardening and walking dog. Food wise i was struggling with a liquid diet as it awful – so thank god for mash potato and porridge… Not spoken to dietician -i suppose there’re all working from home!

haha good to hear you’re getting your teeth (ish) into something hey. Well done you for keeping up and mobile…. could be a ball of wind under the diaphragm if you’re feeling the pain when you inhale..?? Hopefully this settles for you quickly. Do you have any pain when shallow breathing and being still..?? or when you eat..??
Yes all the dietitian are working form home now, there maybe a slight delay on the regular calls until everyone have home access in place I’m afraid xx

Hi Hannah, welcome to the site
It can take a few weeks for wind to settle – have you started on soft diet now..?? if so make sure you are applying the 20+ rule all the time as eating too quick can bring the wind back
Try taking some wind preps to help and make sure you are keeping up and mobile too
Are you managing food ok..?? not having any reflux or regurgatation xx
