Is it just me or does a rainy Sunday give you a low mood? I need a fill but can’t have one till after 7th Sept (nothing to do with my band, but having a camera down for something – basically, I was prescribed a heavy painkiller a few years ago which burned my stomach lining so I have to have an annual camera check to see it is ok) so i had 50% of my fluid removed in advance. You forget just how much support your band gives you – I’m a lot hungrier than usual but am determined that although my portions have doubled (at least!!!)  I’m sticking to my usual foods – lots of protein ( I love fish and seafood – think I m half seal ) :):):)   plus rocket leaves, baby tomatoes …. i tend to follow the Dukan diet, tho not religiously – carbs give me awful water retention so i just swerve them for the most part and use Slim Noodles or Slim rice if i want a partner on the plate for a chilli or similar. Dukan has really brought home to me how much sugar there is in seemingly innocent foods. A big thing fr me a real foodie is using Quark as a base for dressings etc instead of mayo and the like. To the Quark i add mustard, or horseradish sauce, dill (mega with salmon) etc ….So I’m hanging in there, trying not to gain too much and not get depressed by a few pounds gain. Roll on 8th Sept when I ll be booking in for a fill :):) xx  It’s such a comfort to know tho, that even if you have a period of weight gain ( i always gain on my hols as i go completely nuts!!!!) once you get your fill back to where it needs to be, your weight loss will kick in again. Think i wrote this to reassure myself as much as anyone else 🙂 xx ok – steamed trout for tea with Quark n dill dip on the side :):)

Good for you trying to keep things controlled – which is not always the easiest, especially on rainy Sundays your right..!!!!  Your tea sounds delicious – Enjoy.  You will be back on track with your band before you know.  It really makes your realise how amazing the gastric band is when its working optimally.

Good luck with your camera – hope everything goes well for you xx

Hi it’s so difficult to stay on track sometimes and everyone will find their own way of doing things. Well done on doing what you can to keep going through the tough times

Just need to post though that as a registered dietitian that I can no way endorse or recommend  the Dukan diet.  This one unfortunately was reviewed they the Britush Dietetic Association and made the list for one of the top diets not to follow

      ( sorry) xx

To be honest Sue i ve felt so tired on it i have decided to sack it off. I ll still keep the carbs on the down low but i cant live without my rocket and tomatoes and my veg xx I ve been a bit panicky due to my unfill and did that stupid thing of looking for a miracle to prevent weight gain – had a bit of a chat with myself last night – my emotions and weight are soooo entwined …. i asked myself …. are you seriously telling yourself that a few salad leaves is a crime???? the bag of rocket leaves was 0 fat   0 carbs n only 67 calories for goodness sake!!! So yes, i agree Sue – it doers help me with water retention to sack off all carbs for a few days but not longterm – xx

You have done the right thing – any diet that restricts healthy foods is never a good thing. All veg / salad and fruit should be encouraged and enjoyed with a band
