Help!
So I’ve somehow managed to roll over in the night and sleep on my stomach!!
this morning the incision where my port is is bright red and I can feel a lump under it.
It isn’t painful but Im so panicking -

Hi Charlotte
Awwww the fact it isn’t painful is good… the redness could just be additional blood flow to that area and the hardness may just be the port you can feel. All I would say is observe the site over the next 24 hours and if things don’t settle get in touch with your provider or if symptoms worsen. Try not to worry, ports are pretty hardy little things.
Just take things easy today too just to rest the area
let us know how you get on xx

So I took myself over to the clinic today after an awful evening last night. 3 of my wounds opened up and, well I’ll spare you the gruesome details but needless to say it wasn’t pleasant….
Had to have them swabbed and washed out now got big iodine dressings on them and I’m in such pain….
Now another week of no showering! 😭😭😭
ok whinge over.

Aww Charlotte 🙁 booo hooo. Iodine dressings really are great so hopefully they help dry and heal the wounds quickly for you. The swabs will take a few days so just bear with it…. whinge all you want, we feel your pain…!!! Take some pain relief too, don’t be a martyr and don’t forget to hit at least 60g of protein to aid the healing process
Big Hugs xx

had my band done Saturday. Thanks pain that feels like a stitch where I am assuming the port is as it is largest incision. Just a bit sore to walk but fine really. Also have the referred shoulder pain from wind but so far so good. -

Try some Windeze, gripe water or peppermint tea for the shoulder pain. Hope it has eased off now xx
