Hi All,
So I had my band fitted yesterday 20/10 and I’m feeling a little sore today.
I was wondering if anyone could offer any advise on fluids and what they found useful in the first two weeks.
Im totally sick of apple juice and water and wanted some alternatives please.

Hi Sue
The soreness is expected, and hopefully each day you should feel that little bit better
Did you read week 1 on the ‘start here’ section – I’ve added the link for you, have a little read just explains things what to expect
The first 6 weeks are on there too, so have a little nosey
Did you find the liquid recipe section ok..?? xx

Hi Susan. Welcome to BandBoozled – hope you are recovering well
The most important thing at this stage is protein containing fluids to help everything to heal properly. Try meal replacements, milk, pouring yoghurt, protein shakes, soups containing beans, peas, lentils – all blended at this stage with no lumps and bumps. Any smooth soup is fine but if there’s no protein in it just add some skimmed milk powder to it ( a good protein source)
Have a read through our START section and in The Kitchen for lots more info
how long has your provider advised you to stay on liquids for ? Xx

Hi Susan, I had my band fitted Friday 🙂 feeling a lot better today and have managed some protein shakes and some soup yesterday.
Good luck and let’s keep in touch. I made the mistake of getting on the scales today and I am heavier than Friday! Been reading and I think that this is common after the op, I am not going back near the scales for a while..

Good idea Amanda – concentrate on healing just now and following the liquid phase of the diet – the weight loss will catch up when the band is optimally adjusted x

I d deffo be swerving the scales for at least a month!! Just focus on getting back to normal after your surgery and yes – normal will mean the capacity to eat like before …. but you need to get your A game ready for this challenge …. i had gained before my first fill because once my post op tummy had settled down, i could and did – eat all the wrong things n no effort to reign it in at all ….. but there is no need to do this … i had no support, no site like this, no idea what i was doing, really…. so while you recuperate, get smart and get planning how you are going to stay in control till your fills start to kick in xxxx Good luck … lovely to see some more newbies on board 🙂 xx
