<p style=”text-align: left;”>Hi,</p>
I am currently on day 4 of the band, and all seems to be going well.Aside from the dreaded trapped wind! That’s one thing I hadn’t prepared myself for at all! Thankfully that is dispursing now and wounds seem to be healing well.
My questions is, I am feeling starving! Soups, shakes aren’t doing much at the moment. Either its hunger pain or wind, I haven’t 100% worked it out, but just wondered if anyone had any tips on what is a little more filling?
I’m slightly tempted to have some watery scrambled egg, but I also want to do this right!

Hey guys…. as the swelling starts to go down around the stomach the hunger can kick back in unfort….. ok it’s so important that you stick to the post op diet as advised, if you try and progress quicker you could cause a problem with the position of your band… I know not what you want to hear..!!! Sorry…😔
make sure you are drinking plenty and look at increasing your protein, this really does help with the hunger on the liquid phase
not long now for you both… try some good nutritions home made soups and blitz them down xx

Hi
Im 3 months banded and remember feeling hungry on the liquid phase but drank a lot of soups and protein shakes sometimes 6 to 8 portions a day! I also made a big pan of leek and potato soup and put some pancetta in. I blended smooth but is was still a thick filling soup which I loved. Remember this part of your journey isn’t really about losing weight but waiting for the swelling to go down before you move onto the sloppy then textured food phases. Enjoy it and drink more 😊 xx

Thanks guys,
I have managed to soldier on through and feeling better about it. Just over a week to go now on liquids! 💪
Leek and potato soup has been a saviour as its kept me full for longer 🙂
Can soup get stuck in the band? Or is that still a bit of trapped wind?

If in the early stages post op, it’s a thick gluppy type soup you might find that it slides down a bit slower than a thinner consistency soup and can give you some discomfort central chest. If this is the case I would just thin it down a little so it’s more free flowing and not giving you any discomfort. Make sure your doing your 20 seconds between teaspoons too
So glad to here your soldiering on… it will be all worth it 👍🏻 Well done xx
