That is a pearl of wisdom from the ammib library, not an official syndrome (should I copyright it????) :):) So what do I mean? I was and still am, prone to food panic. A fridge n freezer filled with food, albeit it 90% healthy good stuff, and I panic. I feel over faced, nervous that I might get out of control, like the kitchen is filled with bombs, live ammunition. 16 years banded I know I wont go nuts n nosh the whole weeks worth in two nights like I used to do, but the fear still has me. But if I don’t have food in, I panic again. I always have to know there is something in in case I get hungry. Where do these fears come from? God only knows, but I wanted to raise this as in recent conversations with friends non-banded, they feel the same sometimes. We all have our demons and I wanted to air this, because if you re new to banding, you may be scared when you realise how small your correct portions need to be. If you are too filled n know full well you are surviving on a few spoons of soup each day, that is WRONG!!!! But read the libraries on here about what your meals should look like and relax – you wont be malnourished. But it can be a shock when you shop for an optimally restricted band. I think my demons mainly stem from fear of hunger as my childhood was pretty grim. we were poor so there wasn’t always a lot on offer.  But I do mange to cope with my food panic these days tho it does still nag when im feeling a bit vulnerable. Hope this hasn’t ruined my cred with you guys… just sharing because its one more thing which can derail us so I just wanted to get it out there, even if only one person feels ‘its not just me’, it was worth the share xxx

let me elaborate a bit more? I live alone n you cant always buy for one. but two full romaine lettuce and a pack of tomatoes etc etc ….. I get stressed feeling I  need to eat it or it will go off. I tend to manage this by buying a tray of salad off the shelf, eating it and not having its relatives rotting in the fridge. I don’t want salad every night so I manage it that way. I have frozen veg as I can take what I want n know I can choose not to have that veg again for a while without it staring at me from the fridge. A bit of forethought goes a long way xx

      Hi Ammi

i can totally relate. If my cupboards, fridge and freezer aren’t stuffed full for every eventuality I feel very uncomfortable. I love food but I’m also a feeder so whoever walks through my door gets fed, whether they are hungry or not, within minutes they have a drink and food in front of them! I thought it was just me! Albeit my family (Italian) are all the same!!! Xxx
