National Salt Week – TOP TIPS


Practical Ways of Reducing Salt Intake: 

• Eat less crisps and nuts
• Eat less processed foods like ready meals
• Eat less tinned foods because salt can be used as a preservative
• Eat less foods that have been smoked
• Don’t add salt during cooking
• Add pepper instead of salt at the table
• Look for reduced salt ready meals
• Reduce intake of stock cubes and gravy granules. Some health food shops sell reduced sodium stock cubes

So, go easy on the salt..........but use as many herbs, spices and as much pepper as you like!!!
