National Bread Week 19th-25th May

As we all know bread can be a funny one when it come to the Gastric Band, some people just decide to give it up altogether.  Sometimes it is just a case of finding the type of bread product that you can tolerate, and believe me some really are much easier that others.   Your 20+ eating rule really comes into play here too.

Some ideas to try can include 

  • Toast
  • Pitta breads
  • Thins
  • Rolls
  • Wraps
  • Ciabatta’s
  • Panini’s
  • Pitta pockets

If you decide to give it up altogether is this a problem longterm.?   The answer to this is No.  Just remember to ensure your diet is balanced a quarter of your plate should be a carbohydrate.  These include

  • Pasta
  • Potatoes
  • Rice
  • Pasta
  • Cous cous
  • Noodles
  • Cereals
  • Cereal bars

So just remember this when you are portioning up your plate.
