May 2021 – Step 5 of a 12 Month Programme

Self Reflection

Many of us are so preoccupied with other things and people in our lives that we barely take the opportunity to relax and connect with our emotions. Moreover, we often underestimate the value of self-reflection and the impact it may have on our lives and others we share it with.
Self-reflection, is one of the most powerful ways to shift your perspective, strengthen your life's positivity, develop a stronger bond with yourself and help you to respond to situations and learn from them in a positive and constructive way. It may be useful to explore patterns, habits, and common themes. Reflecting on your own circumstances, like most issues, will serve as a clear example of what you do daily and how to avoid unnecessary and foreseeable woes.

Regular reflection can be extremely helpful and can motivate you to think about how you can inject more energy and fun into your daily routine.
So let s begin...........
One of the most important ways to maintain a positive mindset and improve your connection with yourself is to practise self-reflection. Here are a few reasons why you should make self-reflection a top priority in your life.
Reflective thoughts - Self-reflection will help you process your thoughts and emotions. When our emotions whirl about in our heads, we irritate or frustrate ourselves ever more. By transferring your thoughts to paper may well assist you in finding a solution to your troubles. Since we keep thinking the same thoughts without acting on them, we consider our difficulties to be greater than they actually are. Simply take a moment to pause, reflect, and look internally to find a way out.
Track your success - Once you write down a few thoughts about your day, you can look back and see how much has progressed over the last few weeks, months, or years. This will assist you in realising that the issues you were already concerned with may not have been as significant as you first thought. Keeping a diary and monitoring your progress will help you to learn more about yourself by identifying patterns, habits, and regular themes that come up in your life.
Make your reflections more challenging - Self-reflection gives us the opportunity to examine our own beliefs. Most of us tend to dwell on the negative aspects of our lives; It's interesting to ask yourself if you really believe these things when you have the time to think. You'll soon realise that the self-deprecating untruths you tell yourself are simply not true!
Self-awareness and intent- Without self-awareness, we can't fully comprehend our emotions, beliefs or aspirations. In order to work your way forward, it's important to maintain focus, resolve and conviction in all your endeavours to navigate your way through the blocks in order to progress.

So in May...............

Ditch: Late night telly, finish your day with an entry into your journal.
Take up: A positive attitude can help you improve your health and well-being by removing all negative thoughts from your mind and focusing on all the good stuff.
Pat yourself on the back: For getting to month 5, of our 12-month programme.
