Getting Ready for Surgery

Use the time before your surgery to make some goals and get prepared. For example :
- Aim to be more active in the long term and sort an exercise plan
- Try cooking more – healthy, tasty recipes
- Cut down on junk foods
- View what you eat as fuel for your body – eat plenty of protein foods
- Get prepared – sort out your supplements with your GP before your surgery
- Buy in some wind remedies ( gripe water, windeze ) ready for post – op
- Make some bean based blended soups and freeze ready for the post op diet
- Tidy your cupboards – get rid of the high calorie snack foods, fizzy drinks, sugary foods etc
There’s no denying the pre – op diet is strict and hard going but that’s what is getting you to your surgery and on to the next chapter of your life
